ORIENT EXPRESS MTBO is held in the city of Šternberk, which celebrates 720 years of documented history this year. Patronage over the event has been granted by Šternberk mayor, Ing. Stanislav Orság. In Šternberk you will find many beautiful sights and fun things to do.

We invite you to visit Šternberk – awarded Historic Town -2008. The town is famous for motor races and the important hill race track - Ecce Homo. The city also off ers visitors a unique exhibition of Time with interesting facts including measurements from the cosmic birth of time, atomic clocks and up to date measurement methods.


The main landmarks of the city include the State Castle of Šternberk the historic buildings of the former Augustinian monastery with the notable Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and an extensive set of restored town houses in the urban conservation area.


Šternberk is a traditional venue for popular sports car races and the Ecce Homo track famous throughout Europe. There is a European championship every year and a vintage car race called the Ecce Homo Historic. You can experience the atmosphere of the races in a new exhibition Ecce Homo Park and try a real racing ride along Ecce Homo on the motion simulator.


Only in Šternberk can you listen to the stories of the unique “Klikotoč” Handlespin. Thanks to this original information system placed in the centre of Šternberk, visitors can listen to interesting information about Šternberk, its history, its sights, stories and legends and famous inhabitants. Each of the nine devices contains
diff erent information in English, German and Czech.
