Tips for swimming in nature

It will be hot. Really, really hot. Even though we will have beverages accessible at the event center, we understand that some of you will want to go for a swim and that the public pool in Olomouc isn’t going to cut it. Here are tips for swimming in the area.

Artificial lake Podebrady

With both sandy and grassy beaches and a gradual entry into the water, Podebrady are an amazing place for you to cool yourself down. There is a parking lot nearby; one large and two small slides; the possibility of renting boats and pedal boats, parasols and deck chairs; play corners for children; beach volleyball and football fields. There are 4 restaurants near the lake and there is also a separate nudist beach for those of you that want to get a perfect tan.

Old quarry Výkleky

One of the most beautiful places for swimming in the Přerov region is the flooded quarry Výkleky. Pure clear water with a visibility up to the depth of three meters attracts fans of swimming in nature. The quarry is surrounded by large cliffs, from which you can get a nice view of the water, but there is also a gentle slope that opens up to a beach.

The average depth of the quarry is about six meters. The bottom of the quarry is stone and diving enthusiasts can enjoy the view of life below the surface - crayfish and a lot of small fish live here. There is a bath upside down on some scaffolding that serves as a caisson.

Náklo sand quarry

A large natural swimming pool between Lhota nad Moravou and the Náklo village is located about 10 km from Litovel. A blanket can be spread around grassy and sandy beaches around Náklo, but the access to the water is not easy with a steep descent into the depth, which is not entirely suitable for children. The water there is very clear.

Slezska Harta

Slezská Harta is a fresh-water reservoir built on the river Moravice in the Low Jeseník near the town of Bruntál. The historic state border of Moravia and Silesia passes through the reservoir. Construction began in 1987 and was completed in 1997. It is the youngest dam in the Czech Republic and the sixth largest in terms of the volume of water. In some places swimming is forbidden, so be careful not to go to the wrong spot.
